Shoutout to the old diesel mechanic who showed me how to prime injectors with a spray bottle
I was stuck on a 6.0 Powerstroke in my shop in Tulsa, couldn't get it to fire after a fuel filter swap. This guy walked over, grabbed a $2 spray bottle full of diesel, and hit the inlet while I cranked it. Has anyone else had a random stranger save them hours with a simple trick like that?

Heard a similar story from a guy on a trucking forum the other day about using a garden sprayer to bleed air out of a fuel system. Honestly, that spray bottle trick is pure genius though. Most people would just sit there cranking the starter and killing the battery. Usually ends up being something dead simple like that which saves your whole day. I've seen dudes use starting fluid on a rag too, but that's way riskier with a hot glow plug.

Idk, I gotta disagree a little bit. The spray bottle trick is clever, sure, but it's not something I'd call "pure genius." A garden sprayer to bleed air is way more controlled and actually gets the air out, not just pushing fuel down the line. Spray bottles barely move any volume so you're just tempting yourself to crack a line and hope for the best. Starting fluid on a rag is definitely sketchy, I'll give you that, but I've seen more guys ruin a pump by pushing dirty water through with a sprayer than from a quick hit of ether. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather fix it right than MacGyver it with a spray bottle.
