Saw something wild at the junkyard in Riverside yesterday

I was pulling a door panel off a '98 Civic and found a full set of Snap-on sockets, still in the case, just sitting in the footwell. The car was clearly there for the engine, so someone must have left a couple hundred bucks worth of tools behind by accident. How often do you guys find good stuff in cars you're picking apart?

Finding a full set of Snap-ons like that is a crazy score. I read a forum post once where a guy found an old, unopened pack of baseball cards from the 80s tucked up under a rear seat. It seems like the real forgotten treasure is usually in the cabin, not the engine bay.

Yeah, you never know what people leave behind in their cars.

Real forgotten treasure is usually in the cabin, not the engine bay" haha that's probably true for me too, @drew_west. Knowing my luck, I'd fish out an empty bag of chips and a half-eaten granola bar from 2015 instead of anything cool. But seriously, that baseball card story is wild. Imagine finding something like that just sitting there. I'd probably forget I even had tools in the cabin and just be excited about the random stuff left behind.
