Just spent 6 hours hunting an EVAP leak that was a 10 cent o-ring
My 2015 F-150 kept throwing a P0456 code, small leak, but my smoke machine showed nothing anywhere. I checked every hose, the gas cap, even pulled the charcoal canister and still got the code. Finally I grabbed the shop's ultrasonic detector and traced it to the purge valve solenoid connector, the o-ring inside had dried and cracked. Swapped it for a universal one from the parts bin and the code cleared instantly. Anyone else wasted a full day on a leak that ended up being that tiny and dumb?
