Just realized I've been trusting torque specs way too blindly
Talked to an old diesel guy at a shop in Tulsa last Friday, he said he's seen 3 engines grenade from guys following the book on aftermarket head bolts. Said he always subtracts 10% when the part isn't OEM, and honestly it hit different cause I've done that exact job twice without thinking. Anyone else adjust specs for non-factory parts, or am I just paranoid now?
