I went with a used Snap-On scan tool over a new Autel last month...

Everyone told me I was crazy for buying a 5-year-old Snap-On Modis Edge instead of a brand new Autel MaxiSys for the same $1500. But the Snap-On has never let me down on a single Ford or GM job at my shop in Tulsa, and I can still get updates for it. Has anyone else stuck with older Snap-On gear and found it works better than the new budget stuff?

That iPhone 8 still getting updates or is it stuck on iOS 16?

Funny how that works - people get so caught up in what's NEW that they forget SOLID still means solid. It's like how everybody rushes to buy the latest cell phone every year, but my buddy's still rocking an iPhone 8 and it does everything he needs. Sometimes the old stuff just WORKS if you know what you're doing.

And that iPhone 8 is probably paid off too, which is the best feature of all. People forget that buying new stuff every year just keeps you on the hamster wheel. I've seen so many friends drop a grand on the latest phone and then complain they can't afford to fix their car or go on a trip. It's like, you could have just kept the old one and had money for something that actually matters. What's the oldest gadget you're still using on the regular?
