Had the worst brake job of my career last Thursday in Phoenix

Turns out someone had cross-threaded the caliper bracket bolts on a 2018 F-150, and I spent 3 hours chasing threads and cursing under a lifted truck in 108 degree heat. Has anyone else dealt with factory cross-threading that somehow passed inspection?

Man, that sounds brutal. 108 degrees under a lifted truck chasing threads is basically a rite of passage in the desert, but nobody signs up for that. I've got a buddy who swears by using a thread chaser set on every single bolt before he even tries to tighten anything on a newer Ford, and stories like this are exactly why. It's wild to think that came from the factory like that, but honestly, quality control feels like a coin flip these days. Hope you got it sorted without having to helicoil the whole bracket, because that heat just makes everything ten times harder. You have my full sympathy on that one.

Heard a master tech say Ford's been rushing builds so bad lately even the robots are messing up threads.
