Can we talk about the $380 ABS module that fixed nothing?

Honestly, I dropped 380 bucks on a refurbished ABS module for my 2011 F-150 last month after the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Turns out it was a corroded wheel speed sensor wire under the frame, 12 bucks and 40 minutes of my time to fix. Are we too quick to blame the expensive parts before checking the cheap stuff, or do you always start with wiring too?

Blame the part first every time, it's way easier than crawling under the truck with a multimeter. Yeah, you overpaid, but at least you didn't spend three weekends chasing a gremlin like I did once, the part swap is the fastest way to rule things out (even if it hurts the wallet).
