Can we talk about how everyone keeps overtightening lug nuts with impact guns
Honestly I've watched three trucks come into our shop on Bardstown Road in Louisville this month with warped rotors and stretched studs because somebody hammered the lugs down with an impact and never checked the torque. Spec on most half tons is around 140 ft lbs and I keep seeing guys rattle them way past that until the socket won't even move. I know it's fast and I get the rush on a busy day, but a torque wrench costs less than one comeback. Anyone else seeing this get worse lately or is it just the shops around here?
