My mechanic always says rushing brake jobs gets people killed.

That's a scary but true saying.

Had a guy say the same thing to me last year. Started doing a full checklist on every car now, even the simple stuff like cleaning slide pins and checking the parking brake. Slows me down a bit but haven't had a complaint since.
