Vent: why do people still blend the jambs on quarter panel swaps?

Been seeing a lot of fresh quarter installs come through the shop here in Tulsa where they just blend the jamb and call it done. I pulled one apart last Tuesday and the door edge had that ghost line from the old color showing through clear as day. That stuff comes right back as a mismatch after a few hot summers and the customer always blames us in the end. Am I the only one who insists on pulling the glass and doing a full jamb spray even if it eats an extra hour of labor?
