Vent: fought a dent for 3 hours that should've taken 30 minutes

Had a 2019 Silverado door panel with a crease near the body line. Thought I could pull it with my stud welder and slide hammer quick. Ended up overworking the metal and had to skim coat it twice. Just ate up my whole afternoon on one door. Anyone else get stuck on a repair that looked simple but turned into a nightmare?

Sometimes you gotta walk away for 20 minutes" is real advice, I read that on a forum too lol.

Nah I gotta push back on this one. That 2019 Silverado door, the metal is just too thin for a stud welder and slide hammer on a body line crease. You're better off with glue pulling and a tab system, way less heat stress on the metal. I learned that the hard way on a F-150 door where I made a dent way worse by trying to muscle it. Sometimes you gotta walk away for 20 minutes and come back with a fresh plan instead of forcing the same tool.
