The 47th Volvo I fixed this year had the exact same dent pattern

I hit 47 Volvo 240s this year with the exact same quarter panel dent on the driver side rear. Every single one had that little crease right above the wheel well from someone backing into a pole or a parking block. I started keeping a tally on my shop whiteboard back in March just to see how many would come through. It hit 47 last Tuesday and honestly I stopped being surprised somewhere around 22. Anyone else notice a specific car model that always shows up with the same damage?

Your mileage may vary" pretty much sums up my whole career at this point. I hit 47 Volvo 240s with that same exact dent? That's not a coincidence, that's a rite of passage. I swear those cars have a magnetic attraction to poles and parking blocks, especially on the driver side rear. At this rate, I could probably fix one blindfolded just off muscle memory alone.

1989 is when that body style started, and those rear quarter panels were basically designed to catch anything you backed into. Ive been in the trade since 1992 and I gotta say, I respect your tally but I think the numbers speak more to how many of those cars are still on the road rather than some weird magnetic field. The 240 was built like a tank and people drive them forever, so you're gonna see a lot of them with the same parking lot scars. Your whiteboard is just tracking how many survivors are still out there bumping into things.
