That moment I realized collision estimates have a secret language
Been doing this trade for a while and figured I knew all the codes, but last month a customer brought in a repair sheet from a shop in Nashville with 'R&I front fascia for access' and it turned out they charged 2.2 hours just to unclip a bumper cover. I looked up the OEM procedure and it says 0.6 hours max, so how do places get away with padding like that without anyone calling it out? Has anyone else run into estimates that basically translate to 'we added time for the coffee break'?
