PSA: Stop buffing over repaired rock chips without checking depth first

Pulled a car in last week from a shop that had buffed a chip repair smooth. Paint looked fine from 10 feet but the clear was paper thin right over the filler. I used a paint depth gauge and it read 40 microns there, rest of the panel was 150. Anyone else seeing this with those quick repair kits?
