My old compressor died mid clear coat on an Escalade Friday
I was laying down the last coat on a 2019 Escalade rear quarter in my shop outside Columbus. Out of nowhere the belt snapped and the tank pressure dropped from 90 to 20 psi before I could even hit the stop switch. The clear started to orange peel bad on the driver side door and I had to sand and reshoot the whole panel. Has anyone else had a compressor fail at the worst possible moment and come up with a quick fix for the pressure drop?

Man, that is brutal timing. My old rig blew a check valve right as I was finishing a pearl coat on a Honda, and I had a puddle of solvent on the floor before I even knew what happened. Did you try just cranking the regulator wide open and praying the motor had enough left in the tank to finish?
