My old boss in Tulsa said blocking a panel is a waste of time, and 3 months of doing it anyway proved him wrong
He ran the booth at a shop off 11th Street for 19 years. When I started blocking out my repair areas before primer, he laughed and said primer covers everything, just spray it. I kept doing it behind his back because a guy at a class in Dallas showed me his method. Three months later I checked my comebacks. I had 2 in that stretch. The year before I had 9, all from sand scratches and pin holes showing up after paint. He still thinks it's overkill. He also still wets down his floor before every spray. So who's wasting time? Anybody else got a shortcut that somebody swore was pointless until the numbers said otherwise?
