My cheap paint gun did fine for 8 years, now it's ruining every panel
I've been spraying with the same Sharpe gun since I started at Mike's shop in 2017. Last month I did a silver fender and got this dry spray pattern right down the middle, no matter how I adjusted the fan. I cleaned it out twice, replaced the needle, even tried a different cap, still garbage. So I finally borrowed my buddy's Iwata for a Camry door and the difference was night and day, flawless flow. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a gun just age out like that, or is it worth rebuilding one more time before I drop $400 on a new one?

Check your air compressor's regulator output while you're pulling the trigger, not just when it's static, cuz a dying check valve or clogged filter can drop pressure mid-spray and cause that exact dry pattern. I've seen guys rebuild guns for weeks only to realize their lines were collapsing under load. A $15 pressure gauge at the gun inlet will tell you if your rig aged out instead of the gun.
