I finally fixed my door gap issue after watching a guy in Memphis

Was down in Memphis last month helping a buddy with a resto job on a '69 Chevelle. He had this door that hung just a little low, caught the rocker panel every time. I was about to break out the shims and start messing with hinges. But this old timer walked over from the bay next door, took one look, and told me to check the A-pillar before touching anything. We measured it and the pillar was tweaked like a quarter inch back. Spent 45 minutes with a porta-power pushing it forward, door lined up perfect after that. Never would have thought to check the pillar first. Has anyone else run into hidden body damage that messed up door alignment?

So you had to literally un-tweak the car's skeleton just to close a door? (Classic hidden damage sneaking up on you). Sounds like that old timer saved you a weekend of fighting with door gaps for nothing.

Memphis. That old timer probably saved you a whole weekend of frustration.
