TIL my telescope mount has been crooked for 8 months

I got my Celestron out last night to try and capture the Orion Nebula. Set everything up like normal but the alignment kept failing after 3 tries. Turns out the tripod leg locks were loose from moving it around so much. I spent 20 minutes leveling the whole thing with a bubble level I found in a toolbox. Anyone else realize their gear has been subtly broken way longer than they thought?

Eight months! I don't think I could handle that kind of universe stress. My cats would probably knock something over after a week.

Cats might be a better test than people give them credit for though. Eight months is basically one long fur shedding season, and they'd probably stay calmer than we would. Just think of the cat videos that would distract everyone during the haul back home.
