Question about processing astro photos with stacking software
I used to just mess with levels and curves in Photoshop for my Milky Way shots from a trip to Cherry Springs State Park in Pennsylvania. Then last spring I tried DeepSkyStacker for the first time on a stack of 30 Andromeda frames and it blew me away how much detail popped out. Now I'm wondering if I should switch to something like PixInsight but I'm not sure if the learning curve is worth it. Has anyone here made that switch and regretted it or loved it?

Bringing a F1 paddle shifter to my light polluted backyard feels like overkill but man I bet it's fun once you figure out which buttons do what (and don't break anything).

DeepSkyStacker is like the old manual transmission, PixInsight is a F1 paddle shifter.
