PSA: I compared a photo of the Orion Nebula I took 5 years ago with my phone to one from last week with a proper telescope.

The difference in detail, from a faint smudge to visible gas clouds, is what finally made me understand why people invest in real gear.

Right? My first telescope shot blew my mind.

I used to think space photos were fake until I saw Saturn's rings myself.

Right, because if it's that fake why does gravity still work out there?
