Critique that made me rethink my whole editing workflow
I posted a shot of the Orion Nebula I took near a small lake outside town last winter. Someone commented that my stars looked like little blobs instead of sharp points. At first I was pretty defensive, I mean I spent like 3 hours stacking in DeepSkyStacker. But they were right. They pointed out I was focusing by eye instead of using a Bahtinov mask. So I ordered one for like 15 bucks online and tried it on the next clear night. The difference was night and day, my stars are actually pin sharp now. It's crazy how one cheap tool can fix a problem I'd been fighting for months. Has anyone else had a random comment totally change how they do things?

My buddy used eyepiece projection for months before someone told him he needed a Barlow lens.

Wait, is it actually that bad to use eyepiece projection without one? I've been doing it that way for a bit and thought my blurry views were just bad seeing.
