Blurry nebula shot from 2020 vs same target last night - insane difference

I went back and compared a photo of the Orion Nebula I took in 2020 with one from last night and the difference is wild. Back then I was just using a stock DSLR on a tripod but now I've got a star tracker and proper stacking software. Has anyone else gone back to old photos and been shocked by how much better your setup makes things?

I mean a better tracker will obviously make things cleaner but calling it an "insane difference" feels like a stretch, it's just the same fuzzy cloud with slightly less noise.

stock DSLR on a tripod" lol I mean yeah no duh a star tracker is gonna make things look better. But is it really that deep? It's still just a nebula.
