A 15 minute photo from 2004 made me question telescope time

I was digging through old files on a hard drive last week and found a single 15 minute exposure I took of the Orion Nebula back in 2004 with a cheap 4 inch scope. The tracking was rough, the focus was soft, but the color detail honestly looked better than some of my recent 2 hour sessions. I looked up the original data logs and realized it was shot from a rural spot in Vermont during a new moon, and it hit me that conditions and patience with old gear can outshine expensive new setups. Has anyone else dug up old astro photos and been shocked by what they captured with less equipment?
