Woke up and realized I was washing my dishes completely wrong for 10 years
I always soaked everything first then scrubbed, but my friend in Denver showed me he just scrapes and goes straight to the dishwasher. The dishes come out way cleaner and I save like 15 minutes a night. Anyone else have a basic chore routine that turned out to be backwards?

This one little trick actually blew my mind when I figured out the same thing with my own dishes last year. It made me realize how many of us are stuck doing things the same old way without ever questioning them because someone taught us that way when we were kids. The bigger pattern I keep seeing is people cling to these outdated routines across all parts of life just because they feel familiar or comfortable. Like how plenty of folks still fold fitted sheets the same frustrating way their mom did even though there are way faster methods on YouTube now. We get into these ruts and just assume theres no better way until someone shows us different. Its wild how much time we waste doing things the hard way just because thats how we always did it.

I gotta push back on that fitted sheet example though. I've tried those YouTube methods and they're honestly more trouble than they're worth. My mom's way might take a minute longer but I can do it without thinking while watching TV. Not everything old is bad just because it's old. Sometimes sticking with what works for you is actually smarter than chasing every new trick online.
