Walked into the old hardware store downtown for the first time in 10 years
I needed a specific size machine screw for a project and figured I'd try that place on Elm Street instead of going to the big box store. The guy behind the counter was still there, same guy who's worked there since the 80s. He looked at my screw and walked straight to a dusty bin, pulled out exactly what I needed without even checking the label. It got me thinking, how many of these old independent shops are still hanging on around here? Anyone else notice the ones you grew up with disappearing one by one?

Elm Street Hardware still has their own key cutting machine in the window, do they still grind valves and sharpen saw blades too?
