The debate over front-loading vs. top-loading washer maintenance

I always did the monthly cleaning tab thing on my front-loader, but my sister insists that leaving the door open after every wash is the real hack. Which one actually keeps the mold away, or is it both?

Oh man, I used to be all about those cleaning tablets too but leaving the door cracked changed everything for me. The airflow really does stop the mold from getting gross in the first place, so now I do both just to be safe.

Hate to be that guy, but leaving the door cracked can actually mess with how your machine drains and even trip error codes on some models. The real trick is wiping the door seal dry after every load, not leaving it open so the gasket gets loose. Just a heads up from someone who learned the hard way.
