Serious question, has anyone else noticed how much cheaper produce gets when the county farmers market sets up near the main grocery?

Last month I was grabbing a bag of apples at the Kroger off Hill Road for 6 bucks and the next day the same kind was 3 at a little stand by the old gas station. It made me wonder if big stores actually drop prices just to compete with those seasonal pop-ups. Have you ever caught a price change like that near where you live?

Wait, you actually saw the same apples for half the price just a block away? Man, I used to think all that "big grocery drops prices" stuff was just shoppers looking for a conspiracy. But last summer I grabbed a bag of oranges at Safeway for like 5 bucks, then the farm stand a mile down the road had the same ones for 2.50. It was wild. I guess they really do panic when the farmers roll in. Definitely changed my mind.

My buddy saw the exact same brand of cereal at a corner store for almost double what the big chain was charging just down the street. He was mad about it for like a week.
