I thought my friend was crazy for asking about using a potato to fix a phone screen

He swore he saw a video where you rub a raw potato on a cracked screen to make it work again for a few hours. I laughed it off, but when my old phone died during a trip to Denver, I tried it in a hotel bathroom with a russet potato from the mini-fridge. It actually got the touch screen working long enough to call a cab, lol. Has anyone else tried a weird 'life hack' that actually worked?

What kind of hotel mini-fridge stocks potatoes instead of just tiny booze bottles? That's the real mystery here. I guess if you're desperate enough, you'll try anything, even rubbing your phone with a vegetable. It sounds like something my grandpa would swear by, right next to using duct tape for every repair. I'm just picturing you in that bathroom, holding a potato like it's a magic wand. At least it got you a cab, so you can't argue with results, no matter how silly they seem.

Just missing some bacon bits and sour cream for a full tech support meal, lmao. Gotta love when the weird stuff works.
