Three days to find a 1943 newspaper article that was one page away
I was helping my kid with a school project about our town's old firehouse. Needed one specific article from 1943, the one about the big mill fire. I figured it would take an afternoon at the library. Three days later, after scrolling through two different microfilm machines and asking three different librarians, we found it in the next reel over, one page past where I stopped looking twice. The librarian said the index we used had a typo in the reel number. Has anyone else burned way too many hours on something that should have been a quick lookup?
