That 15 minute library tour in Boise got me reading again after 3 years
I went to the downtown Boise library last Tuesday just to print something and a librarian named Dara showed me the new release shelf by the windows. She pulled one book for me, said it had been checked out 14 times in 6 months, and I finished it in 3 days. Now I want more short books like that, any ideas?
Dara did you a solid with that shelf. I had the same thing happen at a used book store in Nampa a few years back, lady handed me a 180 page book and I blew through it in two nights. For short stuff try Of Mice and Men, The Old Man and the Sea, or anything by Steinbeck honestly, most of his are under 200 pages. Also check the new release shelf every couple weeks since they rotate, and ask Dara what the quick reads are, librarians KNOW which books people actually finish.
