Ten years ago I laughed at the idea of ebooks but now I read 3 a week from the library app

When my buddy showed me his Kindle in 2014 I straight up told him it was pointless but after my local library added 50,000 digital titles I finally tried one last year and now I can't stand carrying around a heavy hardcover on the bus, has anyone else completely flipped their opinion on something like that?

Oh absolutely, I was that obnoxious person clutching my dead tree books like they were holy relics. I remember telling someone "you'll never replace the smell of paper." Joke's on me because now I have six library apps on my phone and the only smell I care about is the faint whiff of victory when I get a new release without a waiting list. The weight thing is real though, my shoulder used to ache after carrying around a massive Stephen King book and now I just shove my phone in my back pocket like a normal person. Kind of makes me wonder what else I've been stubbornly wrong about for the past decade.

That whole thing got me thinking about how we dig in on stuff just because we made a big deal about it once. It's like our brains decide the first opinion we had is the right one and everything else is a fight.
