Realized I was scanning book barcodes wrong at the library for 6 months
I kept getting weird results when looking up books on the catalog computer so I thought their system was buggy. Then a volunteer pointed out I was scanning the ISBN barcode on the back instead of the library's own barcode on the inside cover. Has anyone else mixed those up before?

Read a thing once about how people confuse library barcodes with ISBNs all the time. Apparently the library system just reads the barcode number, not what it actually represents. Easy mistake to make when both codes look almost identical.
