My audiobook habit flipped after a random recommendation from the library info desk
I was always a hardcore physical book person, thought audiobooks were cheating or whatever. Last Tuesday I grabbed a hold shelf pick at my local branch and the lady at the desk pushed a random title on me, said it was perfect for my commute. I figured why not, downloaded it on Libby, and honestly it was a total game changer. The narrator did all these voices and I actually got more done on my drive than I do staring at pages. Now I'm hooked on narration styles, I look up who reads the book before I even check the author. Has anyone else switched formats this late in the game or am I just weird?

Have you noticed how much time you get back in a day once you stop wrestling with bookmarks and page corners? I switched about two years ago after my glasses broke and I realized holding a book was more chore than joy. Now I judge narrators harder than I ever judged authors, and I've canceled plans just to hear a particularly good Scottish accent finish a chapter. The funny thing is, I used to mock people listening at 1.5x speed, now I'm the one tweaking playback speeds like it's a science experiment. You're not weird at all, you just finally found the format that fits your life better.
