Hot take: the paper map beats the library app for actually learning a city
Moved to Cincinnati 4 months ago and grabbed a paper street map from the main library branch on Vine Street because the app kept freezing on me downtown. Reading that map for a week taught me the neighborhoods better than 3 months of tapping around on my phone ever did, since I had to actually trace the streets with my finger. Is there a good local history book that pairs with the old street grid, or am I better off just asking a librarian at the desk?
