Audiobook at 1.5x speed finally clicked for me after 12 years of hating them

I always thought audiobooks were for people who couldnt sit still. Last month I borrowed a car repair history from the library on CD, just for background noise. At normal speed the narrator droned so slow I almost quit. Then I hit the 1.5x button on my player and suddenly it felt like someone talking normally, not lecturing. Now im halfway through a sci fi series and actually looking forward to my commute. Anyone else find their sweet spot with playback speed or am I the last person to figure this out?

Man, my buddy swore by 2x speed till his player glitched and he heard the whole book in 45 minutes.
