Took me 3 weeks to figure out why my trowel kept hitting a wall at the same dig spot in Flagstaff
Kept thinking I was hitting bedrock but the soil colors were off, so I finally grabbed a soil probe last Tuesday and turns out I was scraping the top of a burned adobe floor the whole time. Three weeks of careful digging around nothing before I just poked it. How do you all tell floor from bedrock without wasting half a season?
