That old arrowhead my grandpa swore was real...

My grandpa gave me this arrowhead he claimed he found near a creek in Ohio back in the 60s. I always just thought it was a cool rock he picked up, you know? But last month I took it to a local archaeology talk at the library just to humor him. The guy running it confirmed it's a legitimate Hopewell point from around 200 AD. Now I feel bad for doubting him all these years. Has anyone else had a family heirloom turn out to be way older than you thought?

Used to think my uncle's old fishing lure was just junk from the 70s. Turned out it was a rare handmade piece that collectors actually value. It really made me stop and admit I was wrong about a lot of family keepsakes.

Ngl @john648 thats a solid lesson a lot of folks never learn. I had a similar thing with my grandpas old tackle box looked like a pile of rusted junk. Turned out one of those old wooden lures was worth over 200 bucks to a collector in Michigan. Made me realize you gotta stop and ask before you toss stuff.
