Paid $200 for a GPR survey on my property and it was a total bust

I wanted to find old foundations before digging a pond, so I hired a guy with ground penetrating radar last spring. He scanned my whole 2 acre lot near Richmond and marked a dozen spots that looked like buried structures. I dug down 4 feet at every marker and found nothing but old roots and a rusted tractor part. Has anyone else had bad luck with GPR for small residential projects, or did I just hire the wrong person?

Guess you got the "ground penetrating maybe" special. Sounds like that guy's radar was better at finding old tractor parts than actual foundations. At least you got a free rusty souvenir out of the deal.

Maybe the ground was just too wet that day for radar to work right.
