Found a Roman coin in a field near Bath after a farmer plowed it, and it turns out the rain did most of the work for me | Archaeology Discoveries - Librear
So the rain basically dug it up for you and you still had to spot it in the mud? That's not really "the rain did most of the work," that's you getting lucky with where you were walking. I've seen people with metal detectors spend six hours finding bottle caps and here you are with a coin from a plowed field. What's the actual ID on it though, like who's on the face and what year? Because a crusty bronze that turns out to be a 4th century nummus is cool but it's not exactly rare. Half the fields around Bath must be full of that stuff from the Roman baths crowd.
