Found a bronze age axe head in my garden near Lincoln, now what?
I was digging a new flower bed behind my house about 10 miles outside Lincoln last Tuesday and hit something solid about 8 inches down. It turned out to be a small bronze axe head, maybe 4 inches long, with green patina and some edge damage. I reported it to the local finds liaison officer, but has anyone else had a surprise backyard find and how did you handle the paperwork?
