Compared the British Museum's Egypt room to the Petrie Museum in one weekend and honestly it wasn't close
I spent 4 hours at the British Museum in London on a Saturday fighting crowds around the Rosetta Stone, then hit the tiny Petrie Museum near UCL the next day with maybe 6 other people in the whole place. Standing 6 inches from Predynastic pottery and a beaded dress from 3000 BC with zero glass cases between us beat every big display I saw, and I actually got to sit and sketch. Has anyone else had a small museum ruin the blockbuster experience for them, or am I just bad at crowds?
