Used to climb with a handsaw for everything, now I carry a battery pole pruner on every job
For like 8 years I was that guy shimmying up with just a handsaw and a pole pruner that weighed a ton. Finally broke down and got a Milwaukee battery pole pruner last spring after my shoulder started killing me. Took a few jobs to get used to the extra weight and reach, but now I can clear a dead limb in 2 minutes instead of 15. Has anyone else switched and found it cuts way down on the wear and tear on your body?

Got my first battery pole pruner last year and honestly it changed climbing for me way more than I expected. Used to dread having to tap out a limb in a tight crotch with a handsaw, now I just zip up and buzz it off without even breaking a sweat. The big thing for me is how much easier it makes the back cuts on bigger stuff (you know, when you need that perfect hinge) since you can get the saw exactly where you need it without contorting your whole body. Plus it saves so much arm fatigue on those long reach cuts where you'd normally be fighting with a manual pole saw for 10 minutes.

Totally agree, I got a Milwaukee M12 hatchet last spring and it changed everything for me. I used to spend forever with a handsaw on those awkward limbs and my shoulder would be toast. Now I can just make a clean cut without all that wrestling.
