Unpopular opinion: my 24 inch bar on a 60cc saw is stupid and I finally admitted it after 3 months of slow cuts
Back in March I picked up a used 24 inch bar and chain for my 60cc saw because everyone on the crew said bigger is better, and for 3 months I just dealt with it bogging down in every piece of oak over 20 inches. Last Tuesday I put the 20 inch back on at the shop in Bend, and the same saw cut through a 26 inch fir log faster than it ever did with the long bar because it could actually hold rpm. Am I the only one who got suckered into the long bar hype, or did some of you learn this the hard way too?
