Took 6 hours to remove a single oak stump in Dallas yesterday

I figured it would be a quick grind job. But the roots had wrapped around an old sprinkler line and a concrete footer from a fence that was removed years ago. Had to stop twice to dig out rocks and reroute the sprinkler. Has anyone else hit hidden concrete or irrigation that added hours to a stump removal?

Got a bobcat stuck in mud for 4 hours once trying to pull a stump in my own backyard. The damn thing was way bigger than I thought, but the real nightmare was the clay soil turning into soup after a surprise rainstorm. Had to call a buddy with a tow strap and a bigger machine just to get the bobcat out, then wait three days for the ground to dry enough to even try again. Ended up spending more time unearthing old bricks and a rusted pipe from god knows when than actually grinding the stump. Felt like I was doing archaeology instead of yard work.

Man @robinson.quinn I feel your pain, hidden surprises make a simple job turn into a whole day mess real quick.
