The 'ghost unit' trick my prospective landlord used on me
She showed me a place that looked perfect, $200 under market, but the address didn't exist on Google Maps. I drove by 3 times before finding it behind a random gate, turns out it was a storage unit conversion. Has anyone else had a landlord show something that felt too good to be real?

...and honestly that reminds me of the time I almost rented a place that turned out to be a converted janitor's closet in a parking garage. The ad said "cozy studio, industrial vibe" and the rent was stupid cheap. I got there and the "window" was a painted mural of a window on the wall. Still had a mop sink in the corner and everything. I asked the guy about parking and he pointed at a fire lane. Probably could've made it work if I didn't need to wash dishes, but the smell of bleach never really goes away. Makes you wonder what else they're hiding when the tour is that creative.
