Landlord showed up with a guy to 'measure for blinds' and 20 minutes later the place was rented
I was touring a 1 bedroom in Richmond last Tuesday and the landlord kept getting texts the whole time. Right as I was about to hand over my $40 application fee, this other guy walks in with a tape measure and the landlord just goes 'oh, this is Marcus, he's taking it.' I asked what my application was for then and he said 'backup.' So now I always ask two things before I pay anything: how many applications are already in, and is anyone coming to see it today. Has this happened to anyone else or did I just get unlucky with this one guy?
