Unpopular opinion: I used to hate subbed anime until my coworker called me out
My buddy Dave from the night shift kept telling me I was missing half the story watching dubs. I told him voice acting is voice acting, who cares. Then he made me watch episode 1 of Attack on Titan subbed during break at 3am and I heard the raw emotion in Eren's scream. Honestly changed my whole view on anime. Does anyone else feel like certain shows just hit different in the original language?

Dave's got good taste, but I don't see it that way. I watched the first few episodes of AoT subbed and just couldn't get into it with all the reading. Switched to the dub and suddenly I'm actually paying attention to the animation and the fight scenes instead of reading subtitles the whole time. Some of the English voice actors bring their own thing to the roles too, like the guy who does Levi in the dub absolutely nails the deadpan sarcasm.

Wait, what if the dub actually changes how you perceive characters' personalities compared to the original?
