Subbed vs dubbed after 40 shows, the gap is bigger than I expected

I finally watched a popular series I'd only seen dubbed before, this time with subs, and the emotional beats hit way harder with the original voice actors. The dub wasn't bad, but the subbed version made the comedy timing and quiet moments land so much better. Has anyone else switched sides on a show after trying the other language track?

Switched to subs for FMA and NEVER went back, the emotion just lands different.
