Subbed or dubbed for character voices, I switched teams after 300 episodes

I used to be all in on subs because I thought dubs lost the original emotion, but after watching 300 episodes of a long shonen with my crew on a slow Friday in Austin, the dubbed version just clicked for me and felt more natural. Now I'm torn because the sub purists swear the Japanese VA performances carry deeper nuance, but I found myself following the story better without reading every line. Which side do you land on, and did a specific scene or show make you switch or stick with one?

You really switched sides because of ONE slow Friday with your crew? That's like saying you hate tacos until you eat one drunk at 2am. I get that dubbed feels easier to follow, but the whole "lost emotion" thing is overblown. People act like Japanese voice actors are doing Shakespeare while the dub actors are reading a cereal box. Both versions have good and bad performances, it just depends on the show. If you like the dub more, just watch the dub and stop worrying about what the purists think. It's anime, not a life decision.
